flying clubs in kent

hey guys looking to join a flying club in kent just wondering if there are any members on here that fly in kent as it'd be nice to visit a club and know someone there rather than turn up on my own. cheers

Its a good friendly club, but you Medway boys will need a passport to come down to Ashford

If you are an attractive big busted blonde bombshell we might even let you come night flying over the rugby club with us

There are not many clubs around you that accommodate helis. Sittingbourne and Medway are a couple who tolerate helis, but from experience, this is only if you are an existing member.

I can only think of two that would be the closest to you. I'm a member of both.

1. Barton's Point (BPMFC) in Sheerness has a great field and quite a big heli following. Contact Steve Hummel at Westons UK in Tynham for details. The AGM is on the 3rd Dec. If you want to join, this would be the time.

2. Maidstone Model FC has 3 locations, but most of the heli pilots use one field. In fact one of them lives in Walderslade. Speak to Mark Bailey at Modelworld in Maidstone. If you're into electrics, ie 400/450 size, there's an indoor meeting every sat night at Cornwallis school in Maidstone. Mark will have the details for this as well.

3. As Jamiem mentioned, Ashford is also an option, but it depends on how far you want to travel.

ah yeah forgot that one, we also have an indoor meet on a thursday night for 450 size electrics at the car auction building at the market.

ARA is generally very accommodating and sunday morning until 1pm is heli only time, which is great, up to 5 hours of free flying time the rest of the time we just take turns with the planks

if you wish to apply for a passport from medway area to ashford, then please put it in writing to be considered we have our agm tomorrow night too, so who knows what might happen then

o dear, you must have sneaked in under the radar!

your best bet is to pop along one saturday or sunday when we are up there and see what you think. You can attend as a guest for 3 or 4 occasions (i forget exactly how many), then if you want to join i can put you in contact with any of the commitee members that deal with memberships. Ill pm you my number, i should be up there this weekend as long as the weather is ok.

EDIT: I actually work in rochester, we must pass each other every day lol!
