It's only a hobby after all, if your not enjoying it then it's time to move on.

Kev, I think you are doing the right thing. Get a camera and get taking snaps again. The heli's are just a hobby mate and you can still count as one of us with an MCPx! Or you can borrow mine.

So I gather you have not yet flown the 550 Kev? The thing is, flying is what it's all about, that's the important part :-) I'm not wild about building and setting up and maintenance either, although it gets easier the more you do it. But flying always gives me a buzz that makes it all worth it.

Last weekend I didn't get out to fly because there was engineering works on the trains. This past week I didn't even think about helicopters much less open Phoenix or anything. Today even though it was really windy I went out and flew two packs in the 500, all of just over ten minutes in the air, and I am totally energised and fired-up. The point being ya gotta fly these crazy things, and it's not always the most time consuming part.

You will always find the time to do what you really want to do..everything else is just an excuse for being unclear yourself. It is a problem with any weather dependant hobby (and an easier excuse to oneself).

I know myself that i tend to get into hobbies and be really enthusiastic for 4-5 years before i start to hit my limitations/frustrations and get into the next bit of madness..golf, archery, PPL, saxaphones, oils, now helis..

I went through the saxophone phase! I had an Buescher alto and a Yamaha tenor sax and I could almost play a scale and then eventually I decided I just 'didn't have the time' and sold them both. However, the nice thing about instruments like that is they appreciate in value if kept in good shape because they don't change really, so I made a profit when I sold them :-)
