  • v1 and v2 differences???

please could someone one tell me the easiest way to tell a v1 from a v2! nothing to technical please

  • #2
The v1 was a flying bomb and had a sort of pulse jet engine, they were quite effective but we soon found ways to bring them down

The V2 was a proper rocket, very fast and unstoppable, luckily they were not too accurate

V2 has Align etched into the nice blue anodising on the swash and top of the blade grips (the v1 is al blue with no writing) and the anodising is of a darker blue on the V2. The tail is slightly different and the horizontal fin is smaller.

Changing the head on a V1 to a v2 version makes it fly a lot better. I've never flown a v2 so can't say if it's as good though.

V1 had 5mm feathering spindle, 30 had a small tank 50 had a larger tank that hung out of the frames also had issues with blade flutter.

V2 had 6mm spindle 30 and 50 had the same size tank, wider frames and a bigger clutch.

the fuel tank is the easiest way andy the v2 tank is only just proud of the frames. different canopy stickers also (easily changed though)

The V2 frames have little cable hoops down the frames. The V1 does not. Check out http://www.raptortechnique.com/ under tips & info.

On the head. The V1 uses nylock nuts to hold on the blade grips. The V2 uses machine bolts that screw into the spindle.

The canopy is a different shape.
The v1 has a rounder front, the v2 is more pointed. but its easy to fit a v2 canopy to a v1.
