New Member - 450 clone build list

Hello, I am reentering the R/C hobby and here is a budget build I have planned for my other half and I. I want to keep it simple and cheap for something to enjoy. Here is my build list thus far as I think I have made my final selections. My only concern is the tail servo and UBEC. - HK450GT - Turnigy AE-45A ESC - Turnigy Typhoon 450H motor - HXT UBEC - HK401b - HK450V2 pinion 11T & 13T - HK15158A Digital Servo (Tail) - HKSCM9-6 digital servo's for cyclic (was originally going to pick the HTX900) - XT60 connectors - Hex Screws M2x8 (20 pcs) - Socket Head bolt 2x6mm (10 pack) - Self Tapping Screws 2x6 (100) I have other bits that I am adding like lock tight and other misc items, but if anyone has some input to share that would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed that and change somethings based off my observations of others as well. I actually have been reading your thread and following it which changed my mind on the actually HK kit I was gonna pick.

I would also pass on the HK401B gyro. They are not as good as they used to be, the GA-250 would be a better option.

I'm wondering if HK will stop doing the HK450GT kit, it is out of stock in Germany and spares are half gone. Might be better with the GT PRO TT

Yep, no need for a UBEC. The GA-250 is a decent (if basic) gyro, the HK401b is as much use as a chocolate teapot. The HKS-9257 works with the GA-250 but don't expect it to last too long, although if it does - bonus.
Do you need bolts and screws? All the kits I built came with them.

Im sorry but i started with a clone, It never tought me a thing and it broke all the time! my advice to you would be get a second hand genuine align! trust me on this ok. As soon as i got a nice heli i progressed really fast and in the last year my flying really took off (pardon the pun ) and i did my first comp last weekend and i think its fair to say it went well so it proves my point in a way, if you buy crap you will fly crap.

Thanks for the responses. Based off a few other forums and feedback I have made some changes to my order which was just placed. The carbon blades I wanted I will order with another shipment as I have 1 or 2 more orders to make for TX/RX, Batteries and tools along with some other spare parts.
