  • Anybody using a dx7s?

Just wondered what they are like, as align-trex have them at £215, with an ar8000, and free phoenix

With that sort of deal, I would just get the 7s.

If I was buying again, it would be an 8FG personally.

I like Spektrum, but wouldn't tough their new stuff; just my opinion of course.

For the money, you can go wrong with that deal.

Sounds like a steal at that price Kev. I've gone from a 6i to the 7S and up to date it's behaved itself well and is much nicer to use than the 6i. Programming can be a nightmare though till it clicks, still gets me scratching my head over WTF's going on now ! But I like it.

Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !
              Trex 550 V2. Adrenalin ( brown kind )
mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.

Kev if I'm not mistaken the 7s cant be used with Phoenix

The trainer port is disabled as the 7s processer runs at twice the normal speed..correct me if I'm wrong

lol, thank god for that, would be odd to offer the dx7s with free phoenix sim, if you can't use phoenix sim with it

I knew the dx7se couldn't be used, havent heard anything like that about the newer 7s

It's the older DX7SE which can't, unless you use SimStick the wireless way!

The new DX7S is very similar to the DX8 which is a cracking radio, I have a review on my site's blog. (Laurence Gough UK 3D RC Helicopter Pilot's Blog - Viewing post > Spektrum DX8 Review)

The DX7S is a slightly lower cost version, check the features on each and decide that way. Looks like you have got one, you won't be disappointed.

The DX8 and DX7S like other Spektrum radios can be used with Phoenix and other simulators no problem, and they still have the same speed response as the older DX7SE radio.
