  • Trex 450 sport flybarless conversion ????

    Hi Guys

Ive done lots of searching but to no avail....
I was looking in to converting my 450 sport to flybarless ? Does anyone have any advice what head I should go for, I was set on going the BeastX route for the control.

    Thanks
p.s. If anyone has a link to a past thread that I missed, would be very grateful

    Hi

I think all you need is this: Fast Lad Performance

The beastx is a great FBL controller - simple to set up, easily adjustable and flies great without needing to be adjusted.

Oh apparently you need to modify the DFC main shaft Dfc head on original 450 sport v1 - HeliFreak

Maybe you're better just going with the standard FBL head and main shaft. There's one one ebay ending today:

        T Rex 450 Flybarless head | eBay

No need to modify the DFC main shaft, replace the top bearing with a 5x11x4mm and use a couple .01mm shims.

That is what I have done with mine.

Piece of cake. Get your mechanicals set up well and the BeastX will just slip in and fly after the initial setup, which takes under 10 minutes.

I have just sold my align 450 Pro FBL, and am still regretting it!! I had to fund my Gaui425 FBL build. The 450 setup was Savox sh-0257 MG servos on cyclic and Gotech digi on the tail. Align 3g FBL controller. It was absolutely stiff from the off. I set 3g up using Tx and didn't have to touch it again. I saw the chap who bought it on thursday and won't go back to FB, he absolutely loves it. He reckons that it has improved his flying skills already (3 weeks), as it is so rock solid.

If you want to go down the cheap FBL route, I have just fitted the Tarot ZYX FBL controller to my 425. I am over the moon with it's performance so far. I am not very experienced, but the difference between the control of my Gaui 550 FB and the Gaui 425 FBL, is like chalk and cheese!! The 425 goes exactly where you put it and generally stays there. I still have some "fiddling" to do, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the ZYX to anyone. At about $60 usd from hobby king, inc USB lead, can you afford to discount it??

Oh, and I had the DFC head on the 450 pro.
