Flown both and personally feel the Skookum is in a class of its own compared to the V bar.

    Not flown a 540 only a 720 for a while.

Seen nothing but problems with Skookum, never seen one fly any good, so vbar all the way.

Ross. You might change your mind after a go on my 7hv!

The only problems that keep coming up with the 720 are set up issues from people who haven't a scooby or more commonly a poorly set up Heli with bad vibes causing the self level to not work
The gyro still performs very well even with silly high vibes.

The 540 doesn't have SL so no need to worry about that, had 6 axis gyros and from what I've seen both on YouTube and in person at Zone last week with team Gaui looks bloody awesome.

Don't forget spartan vx1 coming soon too....

Come on Graham, i've seen yours in action, and compared to any of my vbared helis it dont really come close, and as for the bailout feature the one time you needed it it never worked.

Ross, that's why I said "when you've tried mine" as my flying and yours are 2 completely different things. Lol.

I've just bought the SK540, read reviews & watched video's of the Gaui team running 540's & that sold it for me, vbar may be good but I've read plenty of guys running vbar's that changed to the 540 & It's going on my Goblin.

I don't know about the Vbar, but one thing to consider is the casing... You certainly don't want to end up having a vbar looking like Dan's one on the 450, so the metal case is an advantage over the plastic vbar casing.

I have an SK720, and from what I've tried it is the second best FBL controller I've had (for me) - only the HC3SX was better. The SK540 is meant to be the same as the SK720 but without the SL so I'd say if you're happy with the way your SK720 flies then get an SK540

The only things drawing me to a vbar is the android bluetooth app (this is important for me as I hate taking my laptop to the field), the FB paddle simulation, and the slider type setup.

Have you tried a skookum? No doubting the v bar is very good but I think van man was looking for info from people that have flown both.

Stan. The 540 has 6 axis gyros and the 720 has 3!

Like most things in this hobby, it's personal opinion.

Each FBL controller offers something a boy different, but only you know what you want out of the system.

Ideally you also you need to try them if possible and see what one you like the feel of. My opinion of good cyclic feel etc is probably completely different to yours, so there is no point mentioning it.

Cheers all Yea i really love my sk 720 easy setup worked great out of the box and a great tail and a very natural locked in feeling in the air with very quick cyclics when you want them , the only issue i have is a slight bounce on right piro stops that i am working on .. what i want to know what is better with the v bar to those that have flown both units ,, i know both units have very simalar features . i know everyone has a diffent preffernce to what they like but im just hoping to gather some info so i dont have to buy both and then sell 1 cheep on here lol
