  • Mini vbar strap

Getting a few vibes on my minivbar

Is using a cable tie rather than a Velcro strap ok. Any reason why I shouldn't use a tie over a strap ??

I'd look into making sure the mini v-bar is not touching anything other than the foam pad under it, and that you have the cables nice and loose going to the v-bar, that is as long as the heli does not show any signs of vibration.

I keep getting a horrible kick on elevator and I'm new to v bars. Thought it was a grounding issue but still doing it. Looked at the log and it says extreme vibration. Did the bench vide test without blades and got values of 800. With the tie reduced to 400

Am I on the right track

Also noticed the Heli drifted forward as I increased head speed from norm to idle 2

Cable ties just pass on resonance straight from the frames to the vbar; kinda defeating the idea of having a foam pad there in the first place.

A velcro strap would be a better solution, but I have never needed to strap a vbar sensor down before.

        What pads are you using?

I think there is something vibrating on your heli, has this model been crashed? Check main blade and tail blade balance with either a balancer or 0.00g gram scales. Also check tail shaft and main shaft for straightness on a mirror or glass.

Many thanks Ill check the blades and stuff

I'm using the pad that came with the new vbar. 6 HV has not been crashed and was flying perfectly . Just started playing up last week. Checked motor and head bearings and all seemed ok

sounds like maybe your wiring is somehow having an effect on the vbar Ray.
I have seen this on a few helis where the wire routing is a night mare & just a little strain is put on the unit.

                  Agree martin

Also going to check the blades as Laurence recommended

Just want it flyable for when I return to you know where as my back up Heli

                  Thanks for your post mate

Ray, if its a mini vbar, the sticky pad you get with the unit should be absolutely fine and there should be no straps or tie wraps needed. Good suggestions by Laurence, Sacko and Martin as to what could be causing your problems. Wiring being too tight is often the problem, thrust bearings, main shaft bearings and the sticky pad itself (coming up at the edges etc.) could also be things to consider.

Hope you get it sorted. I have two minis on the logo 600's and they are perfect just using the supplied pads.

                    cheers
