  • Blade 450X ??

I would like to buy the 450X at some point as it looks like a great 3D machine, but for some reason, I'm thinking that it's too easy, as it's just BNF, whereas with Aligns you obviously build them and set them up.

    I'm contemplating between Blade 450X, Trex 450 Pro 3GX (2nd hand), or a 500 size heli (again, 2nd hand).

What are your thoughts and opinions ?

    Thanks

    Sam

The trex450 is "only" an extra 50quid on the blade price and that's new. I would compare the first two new and consider a second hand 500. I think the 500 would be my choice.

Wasn't there one for sale here for the 400quid mark?

I recently bought a 450X. You cannot really compare the quality with that of a Trex. But as a BNF Heli that flies straight out of the box like the dogs doodahs? You cannot go wrong. IMH&MHO. BTW. Just as easy to rebuild as a Trex if necessary. Not that I've done so yet.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

Sam we see guys buying new heli's and selling because its not to their taste or they are the type that must have the latest. Why not save for a few weeks and the blade 500 will be out.

The blade 450x is one of the best things since sliced bread.
I just cannot belive how good it is, I love mine to bits.
No it is not full of carbon and bling, but I don't care, it flies light nimble and the tail is rock solid. I can't fault it at all.
If I wanted to be really picky, I would of like to see metal geared cyclics, not because they are weak in flight but the gears strip easy in crashes

450X. Coming from a Trex 450 Vbar owner too! It just looks amazing for the money.

People seem to be getting the wrong idea about the 450 X
Yes it's cheep & cheerful it has no carbon or blingy alluminium in it. All it's parts are designed to be functional & hold up well to inflight loads. It does however crash very well, over maybe 30 autos held at Phoenix yesterday at least half of them resulted in two blade 450's being involved in a very hard coming together with the ground some were over longish grass but at least 5 were over a very hard & rolled patch. Not one failure of gears blades booms or indeed anything broken during this mayhem. The only time one wrote itself off was when one pilot decided at two foot above the patch whilst the heli wason its side that he might try to save it by flicking out of hold, he never & it stripped 3 gears & demolished it's blades but apart from that the heli was still in one peice I then tweaked my throttle curves & managed several bailed out autos.
Were now waiting for a better day so Ross can practice bailed out inverted autos on it. The heli is a bit like the mcpx it's a learning tool that crashes rather well when flown over grass as long as the hold switch is hit early damage is normaly light to non existent.

                Martin is right
The 450x is functional, that is how it has been designed, in my eyes it out flies a trex450 pro, and for the money cant be beaten, the reason i prefer it is its light feel that makes it ultra nimble, and has been set up so well out the box.
Crash wise i only have had one ding, last week at zone thursday eve at the practise field, and did little damage really, though all 3 servo gears did strip that is a pain. but the parts are cheap except for the blades that are 35 quid.
Since now the align ones are 14 quid i am going to try a set of them and see if they dont upset the balance of the heli, but only put it back together yesterday so havent had chance to test yet.

Parts were always my concern with blade Helis. If they could get the supply right and also come in with pricing anywhere near align then they could have a winning product.

Alternatively, as I crash less now should I worry?

After practically writing off my 450 Pro FBL I am thinking maybe just get the 450X. Will stick Savox servo's in it as they are a little tougher.
