  • Held at Customs

I know that Parcelforce will handle duty and VAT for an immodest fee and write to me to tell me where to collect it and how much I have to pay.

Having not imported anything that's been held at Customs, in anyone else's experience, is over a week normal for this stage please?

I hope nothing has gone wrong. Any comments gratefully received.

Items can easily sit in customs for a couple of weeks. If you have tracking you can see if its held in customs. You should receive notification from Royal Mail to say its held in customs and give you details on how to pay to get it released to you. It can take a week before you get the notification from Royal Mail as they post it to you. Frustrating when you know its there as you can see online it there and just want to pay and get it.
    Good Luck.

You can ring your nearest PF depot quoting the tracking ID, if it's there you can go and pay/collect rather than waiting for the notification card.

Thanks for the responses. The Customs invoice is properly declared so there shouldn't be anything dodgy about it, it's just held.

From what you've said, it'll turn up eventually and I'll be excited about building it, when it does, but I'm a little bit frustrated about this package as it was the heaviest, most expensive to post, seemingly fastest method of delivery of three packages and it's last to arrive by some large margin.

At least I've got an idea that I could have it for next week-end as its been held for a week now.

Status changed to Departed from Destination Transit Centre.

Woohoo! Should be available for me to pick up tomorrow.

Thanks to the responses on here, I called the Parcelforce Office to avoid the delay of them writing to me. Great tip, really appreciate that.

Amount payable isn't going to be too bad either, considering.

Mines been sat in Coventry Customs since last Saturday. Holiday weekend coming up, don't think I'll see it this side of Xmas. :-(
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?
