Go with a power croco he is the best motor winder in the world full stop end of .if you want something very fast he will wind it for you by hand the the world record holder used a power croco For a reason because you will not get any better!!!

Most of power crocos motors are made with scorpion hand wind kits!!

what's the usual headspeed to run on a TDR then and what makes them so fast?

Sorry for the silly question. I'm still trying to get my head round people using monster motors but still running the same headspeed.

Anywhere between 1200-2000.
What makes them so fast? Aerodynamics, ability to run over 15 degree asymmetrical pitch (this is where you need torque) and very light weight.
It also has ability for very long knife edge flights, because canopy can act as a wing.
