It's never nice to hear that someone has had anything stolen, particularly gear worth £100's/£1000,s. I was burgled in 1996, so I do know the feeling.
But I don't know what makes this incident any more 'urgent' than when yours or my gear gets stolen?
I'd personally take a baseball bat to their knees, but still don't see why one persons theft of property is more urgent than anothers! You can teach a man everything. Apart from experience.

Talking to a police officer recently smash and grab crime has gone up like this, thefts from gardens etc on weekends because they shift them at car boots the next day. If there is a car boot local to the area it got nicked within a couple of days of the date I'd go for a nose, I highly doubt someone who frequents the BMFA website is going to steal a heli with personalised canopy and then try and sell it there. Most of these are crimes of chance, I'd be surprised if the thing hasn't already been sold.
That being said, good luck getting it back, it's ****ing horrible that people do things like that, and as mentioned, have a poke around local car boot sales, it's far more likely to end up at a car boot sale or a cash converters than BMFA or RC heli forum...

Car insurance wont cover anything like the value of the kit taken. Sadly they rarely cover more than about £100 worth of personal belongings.Originally posted by muscleflex View Postdoesn't car insurance cover this? or house insurance?Pete

I can remember doing something years ago on my house insurance as it was a personal item, but has made me think about my gear when I go flying, I do not fly comps but would still be gutted at any loss from some scrote... a new item on this would be good... I am gonna phone my insurers on house and see what is covered in the car, or what it would cost for cover....will post my findings!!Originally posted by PeteStewardson View PostCar insurance wont cover anything like the value of the kit taken.
