My Align Regulator 2 in 1 has just died

Luckily with the heli in the front room not in the air.

Just got my Spartan Flash Link, powered the heli up to do the firmware upgrade and it powers up then just switched off. No magic smoke no bang no nothing

I saw that they now make a possibly more robust version of the 2in1 regulator with better enclosures to prevent ingress of oil etc. slightly more expensive.

Yeah seen that. Mind you this one has seen very little use, only been on the heli a few tanks or so.

Pity really cos it's a really neat idea.

It worked well for the short time it was working...

All I did today was power up, lights all come on then all went off now its deader than a dead thing

If so get the CC one, 10 amp, adjustable output from 4.8 to 9V!
Progammable thru the CC link

Yeah, pretty much, it's a regulator - feeding 6 volts into the radio system, but also has a remote glow clip and a switch which you use to turn the heli on and to charge the glow plug for 15 seconds at a time when starting.

Very useful

I've had one die on me too - that was on the ground also.
It was replaced and have not had a problem since... but monitoring it

Looks interesting mate but this is for a real full power for the whole flight heli so I want the on board Glo start as well

Just installed the Align 2in1 in my heli's
They seem to be working really well but it's the first time out on them

Had 4 flights with the 1900mA lipos and charged back in 850mA
So possibly I could get 8 flights on a full charge, that's using the glow as well

What economic alternatives are there to the align 2in1 reg?
I don't mind if it doesn't have a glow output.
I'm looking for a regulator to use with a 2cell lipo to power my rx/servo/gyro on my .50 raptor.
I am paranoid about the volts dipping and reseting my
AR7000 rx.

Maybe that CC 10A BEC would do...who sells it in the UK?

I too have a Fromeco Arizona regulator (in my Vibe) and never a murmor of anything remotely resembling an issue...

They do dual output and single output versions too.

He said economic which the arizona isn't exactly but where you power supply is concerned I don't think you can afford to be cheap unless ya want a pile of bits.

Like he said. i'm sure mine is down to a dry joint as there was no smoke or anything. In fact I've sent mine back via SMC to Robbe and just ordered one of the new ones from Fast-Lad but....


I think the sensible choice is really either Fromeco, SGP or Powerbox, just depends how big your bank balance is and if you want an integrated Glo Start.

Like you smoothound, I really like the idea but it's just the 'maybe if it goes tits up' that puts me off. Haven't heard anything bad about the v2 so far mind.
