  • Midland Helicopter Club Fly-in July 28th and 29th

DATE NOW CHANGED TO 28th and 29th July 2012

Ok folks, I thought as I sit here looking out the window at the awful weather, I would prepare for when we are due to have glorious sunshine. One of my first things to do is send out a begging letter to all the wonderful sponsors who support our raffle. For those of you who have visited before, you will be anticipating circa £3500 worth of awesome prizes and let me tell you, I'm already off to a great start. I've had 3 of last years sponsors come back to me already.....yes, three and it's only day 1!!!!!!.....these guys rock.

So far (and I will update this post as we go along)
    • Midland Helicopters have donated a Logo 600 kit, the one with a V-Bar head worth over £500!!!!!
    • CSM have so kindly sent both an SL420 and an SL720 gyro for you guys
    • Optifuel have generously sent four gallons of SLV30 fuel plus two of their new 2s lipo RX packs
    • Rotorworld have kindly supplied a subscription to the magazine
    • Model Helicopter World have also kindly supplied a subscription for you
    • Desire RC have sent me one of the new Futaba version of heir excellent Sim Sticks
    • Revolution Models have kindly sent some 600 and 700 size Razor Pro's
    • Fastlads - Radix and Edge blades plus an onbourd remote glow unit
    • Horizon Hobby - Have kindly supplied 2 Blade MCPX'x and 2 Blade Scout CX's (4 RTF helicopters)
    • MHC - The club has donated Phoenix Simulator
    • JR MacGregor - Are generously donating some clothing to look cool in (Polo shirt, Beenies and some lovely sunglasses)
    • Robbe UK - Have kindly supplied a Trex 450 kit and 2 x Trex 100's
    • Neil Bulley - Has generously donated 2 Zippy Lipo's (3S 40C 2650mah)
    • John Tolson - Has kindly donated some V-Paddles
A huge thank you to these guys for their generous support during a horrible economic climate.

So the usual will be there, catering, camping, toilets etc and of course, our normal warm welcome. BMFA/RCHA insurance is required and the event is for pod and boom helicopters only, no scale at this one sorry!
So why not get this in your diary now, come have loads of flying and I know many of you will be going home with an amazing prize of which last year, there were over 50 prizes!

Any questions get in touch and we look forward to seeing many of you, new and old. Additional details and directions can be found in our events section of the website at www.midlandhelicopterclub.org.uk

    Cheers

    Darren

The 2010 one was humming Nik and last year was awesome on Saturday, but wet on Sunday (our first ever rainy fly-in day). Are you thinking of the scale one we do, as this is the pod and boom/3D one and the guys who attend would fly in Huricane conditions........if they can stand, they can fly!!!!

Argh yes I remember now it was the scale one that I came too, mainly to see your stunning Eurocopter but that didnt fly that day, I think the only ones that did were the big R22 and the Vario Bell (this was its first flight if I remember). Looking forward to coming along to this one
        Happy flying!

            hope you are OK Buddy

Iwill be 9pm or when dark....whichever is earliest so 9pm i assume. We do not allow any night flying I'm afraid, but that may change to allow for electric only night flying, I will keep you posted!!

            So can we expect you????
