  • Its Arrived

First off I must say that as usual Real Raptors service is second to nun , ordered my little trex 450 sat night and called on monday morning at about 9 ish just to check if the order was ok and some chap told me it was already packed and waiting to be posted . Thats quick plus the post didn't fail either . Arrived this morn about 9 ish , Think i might take the afternoon off . Better not . Its a 450 s and i was wondering if before i start the build is there any bits during the build that i need to watch or is it plain sailing . Never had a lipo in my hand before so this is all a new thing , bit intimidating.

    Regards Jamie

      Hi Jamie

I used to have a trex 450s but have now upgraded to the trex 450sev2 not because there is anything wrong with the S i just wanted the updated version with all the bling it should be plain sailing putting it together i did find the swash servo's a bit tight when putting them in the frame but that is still the case with the V2 they will go in with a bit of jiggling. I was using the Hitec HS65MG's a great choice for this heli and in my opinion the best, As for Lipo's of course you will need a good lipo charger and balencer i am using the Thunder Power 1010 and a Thunder Power 210 balencer however this is a great combination but is a bit on the expensive side, their is a lot of choice out there for chargers and balencers it just depends on your budget but don't go for the cheapest as these batteries are not cheap and it will pay to look after them (Charging/balencing).

Good luck with your new purchase

      And have fun

mine went together good as gold, flew pretty much spot on from the outset! im about to do the "tail mod" as provided for me by mr Taffage which is meant to speed up response from the tail and make it more accurate for details do a search on his username, he posted a link to the thread on helifreak not so long ago

          You'll love the Trex

I think the 450 s has the head assembled. It's worth checking that ALL metal to metal screws are thread locked in eg. Bolts on the feathering spindle (holding blade grips on), Jesus bolt (holds main rotor head on the main shaft) etc.

Don't use thread lock on any plastic parts as threadlock makes the plastic go soft.

          Good choice of Heli.

          Enjoy

          Cheers

thread locked all these now and they needed it , just spent 3 hours on it and very nice mecanics to look at and work on . I got 3 9xp align servos for cyclic and 1 6x align for the tail . They didn't break the bank and im sure there not the highest spek but they will do till i see how i get on. Got an align 550 heading lock gyro alredy so all i need is charger and reciever and thats me .
