Indeed mate. Im a sucker for anything shiny... lol. Most are to help with rigidity of the frame though. Got the 3 frame stiffeners, the battery tray, the gyro mount and the boom supports. Really helps with the flexing in the frames. The xt rotor arms to get better resolution and the magic blue light for the Beast. The tail is a luxury but very smooth and nice to look at

Wow that's one neat 550 . I prefer the non-braided wiring now to the braided - wish I hadn't done it to my 600.

Can you post some pics of the 600 too?

some serious bling there mate mines still a stock V1 with FB but i love it.....awesome machine.

is that a LiFe battery your using to power the Rx ? how many flights do you get with it ? do you charge it at the field or have a spare ?

Its a 2s lipo used to have unregulated power for the servo's and i get about 3 flights which will leave it about 60 per cent. I don't really like running it any less than that for obvious reasons. I have a few of them so i just switch em over at the field

Those Torq servos look bling! Best looking servos on the market (and they perform great too)!

They are great. Biggest difference i noticed was how dynamic the collective is when using the Torq. I found the collective almost baggy on stock setup. Felt like i was constantly chasing the pitch if you know what i mean. Whereas now it responds if you even look at the stick... which makes it so much easier to fly without that baggy collective

Very nice, neat heli. You might want to file the servo spacer down though as it looks like its rubbing on your main gear.

Thanks mate. Yes i noticed that, its the rubber spacers that have rubbed. I took a bit off before i flew last and it didn't seem to have rubbed. Just shows how much the main gear flexes in flight, as the clearance between them is ample on the bench, yet has obviously rubbed a bit during flight

No worries mate, last thing anyone would want to see is this clean heli heading to the dirt. Very tidy job you've made of the 550 :-)

Thanks mate, although i have to confess that i didn't build it..... i realise that is probably considered sacrilege to not build your own heli's....... But to be honest i don't trust myself to do it correctly. The reason i have really got into this hobby is the fact that my friend and flying buddy is a genius with heli's and he does builds and setups for a living. So he has built and setup all my heli's. I would much rather pay an expert to do than risk it dropping out of the sky because i did not do something correctly. I watch a lot of the time trying to learn the process over time... so I'm slowly learning that side of it. But i am much more interested in flying. But its good to have a grasp of how everything works and such... so I'm constantly learning stuff and asking questions. But i have never had a mechanical issue (touch wood) and whenever he builds a new one for me it always takes off into a perfect hover straight away as his setups are excellent. I like having the reassurance of knowing an expert has built it so its just gonna be right.... everyone makes mistakes sure, but never had an issue with any of mine. I am really lucky in the sense that a good friend really knows his stuff with helicopters... so he helps me with any problems i have. Like i said.... i would have never been able to progress this far in only just over a year without his help. I can just concentrate on flying and not worry about anything else.
