I dont want to have to buy a new charger if i can help it but i believe this can be done. anyone here doing this without problems?

Yes Tony, Shouldn't be a problem mate. You'll need to purchase one of the Para boards from FL or Midlands, be sure your PSU is up to the job and this will depend on the size of 6s packs you wish to charge but 20 to 25amps should be ok and allow you to exploit the full charging ability of the 10s. the board you need would be like this Parallel Charge Board for JST-XH & EC5 AC-PCBJE5 but with the connectors you require

As Sean say, a paraboard will do the trick quite nicely. dont know how good the one is he put a link up for, but i can tell you that the Optipower MPA Parallel Charging board does the job very nicely on the 10S. Its a bit more money, but you get the added safety built into it which can only be a good thing.

Just remember if you do decide to go down the MPA route, you order the correct cable to connect the MPA to the 10S charger.Comment

I am a fan of parallel charging and charge 5 x 6s packs at a time. I feel helps keep them balanced.
I did have a shocker plugging in one time when I plugged the balance lead in first and fired it. If there is a difference in the Bat voltage it evens up fairly fast apparently. So need to make sure you plug the main lead in first so it can handle the current. Also should make sure the batteries are similar voltage before plugging in. I make sure mine are all within say .1v which they generally are after use.
Also a big voltage difference means the high one will discharge and the low one will charge when plugged in. Not so much a problem for the high one but the in rush current into the low one might exceed the Max charge "C" rating.
There are ones with poly fuses? I think in between the packs to stop any big problems. Mine doesn't have it but a good idea if you can get one with them.

3 chargers i can charge 12 x 6 packs in one go but had to make my own leads, parallel charging you can have up to 4 a time which works out about 1 amp charge per eachToday's outlook is fine for flying.- Spektrum DX18 gen2, Phoenix Sims, Align MR25XP.
