When something came out called a Whiplash, this pairing was all but inevitable

Great helis. I have three Miniature Aircraft 90 nitros, one of which is currently undergoing flybarless conversion.

Sadly, nothing quite as modern as a Whippie, but they are still the mutt's nuts. You'd never wear one out in a million years.

Are you flying a Whiplash at the moment Rob? Anything you'd like to say about it?

I have flown the Whiplash Electric 90 several times (double figures) and I like it a lot!

It's an agile model that is light and nimble in the air - incredible power to weight ratio! We had a ready to fly T-Rex 700 electric in the shop a while back, and a side by side comparison found the Whiplash to be just a smidge lighter!

My one and only gripe would be about getting the LiPos in and out - it's a bit of a pain, but the more I flew it the easier it got, so I guess more time with the model makes that easier to do (or you just get used to it and it gets easier).
It's an MA machine, and it doesn't let the name down. The machining is exquisite, the parts look awesome and fit perfectly. Top quality carbon fibre, and machined components, with some nice ideas on the model.

Overall I think it is a superb model, and it will be great to see more of them flying in the UK!

                      Cheers,
                      Rob

All you say about the manufacturing is all that I already know. All good stuff isn't it.

And here's the bizarre thing - as a fan of MA helis, I recently picked up a used MA Stratus airframe for £90. Yes, ninety quid! The Stratus is the Whiplash's predecessor and was in production between about 2005 and 2010, so it's hardly an old model. This is the one that I'm currenly working on as a flybarless setup. I've also got two MA fury Tempests which were the Stratus' predecessor from the early noughties, and these are still superb machines. MA still support the spares production for these older helis, although it can sometimes take a while to get the bits when they are coming direct from MA over the pond, but this is a small price to pay in my opinion.

MA machines have always been extremely high quality kits, and remain so!
The beauty of the new models (Whiplash, Furion 6, Fury 55) is the rethink on usage of parts - they have stripped out lots of "extra" stuff that used to be involved in a MA build, and now you have some excellent low parts count kits that work great.

                          Cheers,
                          Rob

WOW! and that is coming from an Avant Sponsored Pilot!! Must be good!

I am waiting with baited breath for the Whiplash Nitro and i have an OS105HZ/Powerboost Pipe and a CGY750 sat at home waiting for it.

MA have been lacking in previous years and it's good to see them returning with an excellent array of machines. I remeber Duncan Osbourne flying them in the masters and they were the machines which got him the title year after year, and never really gaining the same success after switching to Align. No disrespect to Jason but it would be good to see Duncan back flying MA.
                            Happy Flying! Thanks - Dave
