The scary thing is you could be quietly flying your t-rex 450 when a 90 size hits you.

I have to say that there are some clubs that are just asking for that sort of thing to happen. The club I was a member of in West Sussex frequently had people flying helis over other people flying helis, others hovering back to the pits and there was a time I was flying when I heard a Trex flying behind me - the said club was so hung up on pointless rules and regulations that it missed the important stuff like safety.

Things like that are not nice to see, but I think sometimes are needed as a wakeup call to some as we all know these things can be extremely danderous, so I think seeing something like that help to remind us to be more careful

Modern Heli's are so reliable that you can get complacent.

Trex 450's can bite just as hard.

When my swash came apart the Heli hit a wooden bench and took a large chunk out of it with wooden blades.

Imagine if they were carbon and the bench was a leg

I had a nose in practice which ended in a crash from about 3 feet up and I gave it some throttle to try and fly out which didnt work...brain fart my end...th Trex 450 dug quite a decent hole in the grass.

The hole was probably deep enough to take a box of matches and the heli had very little damage (wooden blades, a servo gear and the flybar) I can imagine a heli in fast flight with carbon blades would do quite some damage.

Has anyone ever been hurt by a pheonix sim?

My knight hit the ground with a blade last weekend it put a gouge in the ground about 8-10 inches long and maybe up to 3/4 inch deep and that was on throttle hold with the blades slowing down.

P.S it'll be back in the air this weekend

that was a grissley looking gash a have to say and think we all need to remember carbon blades at an average 2000 rpm has enough energy to slice through flesh with ease..i have seen people fly very close to themselfs its scrarey a simple glitch could send a heli anyware just seems that when we see a heli crash the one thing we always say is(at least no one was hurt) lets just remind ourselfs safty first and stay safe.nice post sao

Yeah, And most heli crashes can be avoided by doing you pre flight checks, and double checking you Tx before and whilst you spool up, its the simply things that can make all the difference, and we have all done it, started in idle up, started without the RX turned on, tried to spool up the wrong model, 30 seconds to check, could save you (or somebody else) a trip to hospital, and save you ££ in an uncrashed heli.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                          And a DX8 too

The problem is that common sense isn't that common.

Exactly - there's no such thing as common sense.

If it was common, then everybody would have have it.
