Hi anyone have any advice/tips on soldering these awkward buggas?
The cables from the lipo are quite heavy duty to carry the load and very tricky to solder onto the deans ! Any help would be greatly recieved !

I've found the best way is to join a pair together (this stops them distorting with the heat) use a decent iron of at least 25amp and tin the contacts and the wire first. Then clamp the connector in a vice or similar, load the iron with solder and make the joint hold it still and blow on it for a few seconds. Job done!
Don't forget to put a bit of heatshrink over the wire before you solder!

Forgot to mention, make sure you use some flux, or flux cored solder.

A method I tend to use is pretty much the same as shown in the video except, having tinned the wires and connector, I then place the tinned wire on top of the tinned connector plate and apply heat to the underside of the plate until the solder flows - then remove the heat and blow cool.

Having a clamp, or third hand (metal soldering stand) is very useful!
        Cheers,

with thick wires lick off lipos I like to flatten them slightly before tinning them, you get a better contact when they are soddered
                  All the best

So you lick off Lipo's before soddering them?

                    Stuart?
