  • club - Newmarket area?

I kind of wish the xmas/new year holiday was shorter. I'd much rather have the time off in the summer.
anyhow I'm going to be visiting inlaws some time over xmas/new year and seek a heli friendly club to visit. fortunately the father in law used to fly fixed wing so we can duck out together and go flying (weather permitting).

From what he says his own club that he is a lapsed member of isn't heli friendly.

So where is a good club to visit near Newmarket?
Will someone invite me as a guest?
If formalities are requirted, I have BMFA membership and I have my A, perhaps my B by then if I get the chance.

Orwell Model heli club is right along the A14, about 40 miles from Newmarket. You would be more than welcome as a visitor at our flying field.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

    And a DX8 too

Drop Steve (The Manager) a line.

He knows loads of places to fly around the Newmarket and surrounding areas.

I fly with him (occasionally) between Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill.

      Cheers

Yes, our flying field is only about 12 miles from Newmarket at the most.

I'd be more than happy for you to come and fly - you'd be able to meet the chap who bought your transmitter, and he'll probably be using it as well!

However, and there's always a 'but' isn't there, I'd have to clear it with the club mafia first. If it were up to me, then I'd welcome you with open arms, but I need to test the water elsewhere first. I'll get back to you over the weekend if you're interested.

We're on. Permission to land has been granted.

Just the usual rule about having current BMFA insurance, that's all.

          PM sent.

Now, you can't show to much favour for the Bury lot, its worth the drive to come and see us at Orwell, and see Ipswich in all its glory. If you want to come down, drop me a PM, and we can sort it.
