Gaui Hurricane 550...I'm Buzzing!!!!

Bought a Gaui 425 last year and had not much luck and stretched it to a 550.
I had problem after problem and decided to rebuild it from scratch, due to working away for the past few weeks, finally got it finished this morning.

I've been flying for just over a year and am still very much a beginner, I can hover tail in/side and move around very slowly.

I have been out this morning with 2 packs and thought 'no guts no glory' and if I crash, I crash.
I managed to fly a few circuits, took her up and flew circuits and high speed stall and banked turns, all at a height of around 20m

Its not amazing and no 3d competition winner but I've never done anything like this and 6 months ago I never envisiged me doing this.... I'm buzzing and just had to tell somebody, the Mrs doesnt understand

It's a great feeling isn't it. Were your legs shaking??. Weirdly the very first time i done foward flight with my trex 450 i wasn't shaking at all. A couple of days later it (yes it, as it just went full neg & done a chicken dance without input) crashed & then i started again from scratch & the first time after that i done big lazy 8's my legs were shaking so much my knees were almost knocking. I've never felt like that with anything else except flying a heli.

I was shaking like a s***ting dog! Cant believe how much I enjoyed it and must admit she looked so good whilst banking round and the sound of the blades was great!

Hopefully I'll get another chance to fly again this weekend

Thats what's its all about,, getting out there and having fun..
Try and get out as often as time, job and other commitments allow and try not to rush,,it will all come together and then you'll have the BIGGEST GRIN ever

Yes, going to take it steady and not get too giddy!

Huge thanks to mikej, 1 for sorting me right motor, headspeed, and gearing, and 2, for countless advice on stretching the 425.

Really good to hear that you have it flying well - I love my Hurricane 550s, they fly really nicely.
