  • Buying EC5's

I need to get some EC5 connectors for making some deans to EC5 leads for the MPA when I get one. Has anyone used these?
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EC5-Connec...-/220887159957

I've used HobbyKing in the past and they've been ok to be honest but always out of stock!

    Any other suggestions or sources?

I have used this ebayer a few times and the service has been excellent

    EC5 Battery Connectors 10 Pairs 5mm connector | eBay

These are not true eflite but I have not had any problems with them. These ones you solder on the connector and then push them into the housing from the back. You do not thread the housing onto the wire first like some others.

      Hobbyking ones are excellent IMO.

If you mix the hobbyking ones with some eBay ones, they are usually too loose IME.

Yep. I've bought 2 packs of EC5s from model accessories. They're the ones with the solid male pins as pictured.

The ones from the second seller (2 posts above this) look like the hollow ended male bullets, but I haven't bought from that seller so can't be sure.

Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

That's what I was afraid of.. Do you know of anyone that re sells the HK ones in the uk?

I emailed the eBay seller in my link to ask the make (thinking they may be HK) but no reply.

When you say solid do you mean the ones with the cage type spring around it. That's what the picture shows

                  Cheers Marty,
Well spotted mate they were outa stock last time I looked and I'm sure they were more expensive than that.
I was just about to order some from HK now they have them in stock (thanks Andy From Sandy) but for 99p a pair I'll try some of those.

Has anyone else used the giant cod ones?

Yes, they are as pictured. I've bought two sets of 5 pairs a few weeks apart, and both sets were that type.
