  • Helidrive 80A ESC (YGE Clone)

Just got my new Helidrive 80A ESC from HK. Installed it on my 500, I'm very impressed, head over to HKing and get yours today !

Setup and programming is exactly the same as the YGE ESC's.

Reliability - only time will tell...

    They do them in 45, 80, 100 LV (1-6s) and 120A HV (4-14s)

Might try one of the 120hv ones on my 6hv to free the Jive up for another heli.its only 90usd if you leave it on the page for a while and I always wanted to try running 6.6v unregulated which I now could.

    Ta for posting

    Vid on them

Do you know if it works with the vbar governor?

Too early to say until somebody tries it, the Helidrive has only been available for about 2 weeks.

Ordered the 120hv and a LiFe pack to power the radio gear to try on my 6hv or 600efl pro.

I need the Jive off either of these for my Goblin.

Intend to run inbuilt governor to see how it works, was only £72 posted for both items.

Will report on it when fitted.

If it's a straight up clone it should have the inbuilt phase sensor and work with external govs...

I must admit I have mixed feelings about it - these companies ilke YGE put in a lot of R&D into developing these new products, and to see them getting cloned and sold by others can't really be a good thing.... We need the companies like YGE to keep innovating and pushing the frontiers forwards, and where's the incentive if they just get ripped off?

That said, it does make a good choice for a budget build... if the components are up to snuff then it should prove to be an exceptionally good value ESC.

Certainly keen to try it,have never run a model with a LiFe pack direct to power radio so it will be a good platform to try it with, will probably put it onto my 600pro as there, the LiFe can replace the Jive buffer pack, not running a buffer pack on the 6hv as room is more limited so it will be an easy swap on the 600 pro.

Has anyone else got the Helidrive 120 hv esc?

Mines arrived,it's huge but has no instructions.

I know the YGE programming card works with it I shoulda got the Hobbyking one.

It has two leads coming off with servo plugs attached one long, one shorter. Assume the long one will be throttle channel and maybe the shorter one is for a prog card.

Apparently it can also be programmed via the tx which was my intention.

Ah,instructions are under the files tab on the product page on Hobbyking website and apparently it's complete operation is identical to YGE.

Does anyone with. YGE use the gov store function?

If so does it work like the Jive mode11,I assume so.

I will have to get the prog card when Hobbyking get them in again in my next order,I don't want to pay the £20 uk price for one but it'll be good for fine tuning later.

If YGE are made in China they would have had too hand over there plans etc in order too do so, thats the deal for using cheap Chinese labour.....
