Balancing packs

Guys,

I have a Turnigy Accucel 6 balance charger and some 6s 3000mah batts. My questions is simply when is it that they should go through the balancing programme? before charging or when fully charged?

I do my balancing while I'm charging. This way it prevents any one cell getting over charged during the charging process. I use a blinky and also have a balancer port on the charger.
