i just want to check iv set this up right,iv got gyro in ch4 rudder and the switch wire into ch7 and the 9254 into the gyro, now if i flip ch7 switch iv got head hold and normal,so now shud i beable to adjust the gain at the gyro function on the tx?
my manuals a bit wierd it has two gyro setting parts,it says
the gyro settings control the output at receiver ch7
but then on a different page it has

you can set gyro gain by using the gyro menu, the gyro must be plugged in to ch6,so what does that mean shud it be in ch7 or ch6 the pitch is in ch6.

wierd manual im just not sure if my tx is gona control the gain?
delay pot at 0 with the 9254 is that right?

Just leave it on channel 7. Use the channel 7 end point adjustments to control the gyro gain. Yeh leave the delay to 0. Its just incase you get any bounce on the tail when you stop it quickly. Obviously mess with it if you do but ive got mine set to 0.

so if the gyro function on the tx doesnt control the gain just bring the end points in to reduce the gain?

yeh just inhibit the gyro menu and move the endpoints on channel 7 (where ur gyro remote gain lead is plugged into) to the desired gyro gain value. Use minus values for rate mode and plus values for heading hold. Alot of people just set the values to the same number as they dont use rate mode (non heading hold).
