3gx tipping on take off.

Sorry if this has been asked before.... my 550 3gx has a bad habit of trying to tip on take off. It doesn't always happen but very alarming. Is there anyway to stop this. At moment I plug in canopy on then Carry out to spot or should I carry out first or does it not make a difference.

Do you put any cyclic input in on take off like you would with a flybar? If you do, leave the cyclics well alone and just get it straight up in the air.
Also the new V2 software supposedly gets rid of any tipping on take off and landing tendencies. Could be worth trying that.

Tipping could be the swash not levelled out on setup (DIR mode) or faulty servo the 3GX software wont cause this' its most likely mechanical but also check swash tilt in DIR mode to be sure your 8 degrees or below.

Oh yes, forgot that one. Get into DIR mode and get that swash leveller out and make sure the swash is dead level mechanically at mid stick. A little sub-trim won't hurt at this stage. But don't use any trim after DIR mode.

It's also worth rebinding with the Tx after intial setup as this can also give problems if you've had to use sub trim.

Thanx, I bought one of these new fangled swash levellers arrived today so will check over the weekend. I can't be sure but it seems prone too tilt on first flight of day. This is not just a slight tilt ether. I spool up slow, if it's still straight when skids light, I then go straight up.

Whats your throttle curve like?,3gx doesnt like a low head speed.i found mine would quite often try to tip over on take off also until i changed my normal mode throttle curve to 0-60-70-80-100 (or something similar).As soon as its light on the skids just pop it up in the air.As long as youve done a proper pre-flight check it will be fine.

Throttle curve is 0, 25, 50, 75, 100. In fact all is standard as per manual. Will try curve after check swash.
