Well my os55 on my 600 seized today, was trying out a new muffler on it which was the outrage evo 55. What I forgot to do was fit the supplied screw into it. Even though I checked engine temps which was warm it cut out in mid flight. Damage is scored liner and piston and piston ring is buggered. Not sure whether it's worth getting a new engine or not but I have placed a wanted add up anyway. :-(

My 55's got same damage been running my 50 till i can find cheaper parts.Today's outlook is fine for flying.- Spektrum DX18 gen2, Phoenix Sims, Align MR25XP.

The align engine parts are a bit cheaper......Heli central...Basildon RC helis...strictly helis only...

50 is bullet proof, and far easier to tune, and far more consistent, and cheaper, and, well you get the idea

Well thats what you get mr andy for playing with fire ( instead of electrons!) ha ha. I was 1" away from an upside down 7hv pancake today and another chaps 700e motor cut when it was inverted. Bad heli day all round!Tom

Sam Shimmin had exactly the same happen to an almost new OS55 here at Stainburn a month or two back.
He sold it and went electric Andy, Not the answer you are looking for but certainly you are not the only one this has happened to for no reason at all with that engine.Comment

Sorry to hear that Andy. I have not tried the OS55 myself, I have a few OS50 Hypers, OS70s, 91s and a YS91 and with the exception of the YS I have had several pretty trouble-free years of flying.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam
