  • Gaui X2 3s lipos 1000mah gens ace & loong max - is 20c enough?

    Hi,

So my lipos came today for the the gaui x2 - 4 loong max 20cs and 4 gens ace 1000mah. The gens ace do come with the very thin 20AWG wire (I couldn't find any 25cs), but I'll solder on some ec3s and see how it goes

Anyway, do will 20C will be enough, should I have ordered the nano techs from HK? The nano techs I already have are 45-90c. I am past the hovering around stage now, so am doing flips, rolls and I will soon attempt rainbows and tictocs (I also like doing the jumpy pitch thing ). I think I read somewhere that gens ace are quite conservative on their c rating?

    thanks

20 awg for wires is pathetic really - you should have held out for the 25C ones in my honest opinion. Better battery and better wires. It'll do for hovering and sport I guess but you'd see better performance from the 25C with better gauge wire.

How come you didn't order from the link I gave you? In stock there....

So you have 12 packs now? Lol... That's a solid hour of flight time there! As for the ratings, yes they are definitely conservative. The gaui won't pull more than 20 amps constant so the rating should be okay.

Thanks - I didnt order from that site because they didnt accept paypal, and also wouldnt reply to my emails.

However as packs are so cheap ill probably get the 4 they have in stock sometime in the future lol

I like having a lot of packs as I only fly once a week, and it takes a while to walk to the field.

Really? I haven't bought from them yet but they responded to my stock enquiry about some 4S batts within about 20 mins!

How are you getting on with the X2? Still loving it?

Yes its still my favourite heli I've flown - two crashes so far and apart from the skid all that broke was a link . The jesus bolt also seems to be staying in place with the green loctite too (without the threads). I'm starting to like the governor too.
