  • what difference do different blades make

Following on from Chris's torrison blade thread and a few other threads I have read lately, what actual difference do the different blades make to your flying, to me they are just fast spinney things to keep out of the way of

In my experience blades on the 450s have not been that different and I've tried lots of different things, there are 3 or 4 different blades that fly almost exactly the same on the Trex or the Beam.

But on bigger helis the difference is just massive. Blades can completely change the way the heli feels, how it flips and rolls, how responsive the cyclics and collective are, just everything really.

They make at least as much difference as the engine or motor you are using.

Some blades are built differently inside, different weights airfoils and widths that make them fly different to other blades

The blades are the wings and blades probably make the single biggest change to the charcteristics of the heli.

Just as been said the blades are the heli wings for exmample i find curtis youngblood stickbangers very quick on the cylics and very pitchy in fff and a bit harder to auto with as they are so light as for align blades they are a very good all rounder , i personally find spin blades my personal fav they are very stable in fff and punchy cylics and auto well recently i have tried edge and found them to be a great blade as well i really enjoyed flying them so much i bought a set , but everyone is differnt in what they want from a blade and it just comes down to your flying style your personal preffernce and the cost of the blade
