  • Hot glue gun ...... AWESOME

Got a glue gun at the weekend, thought I'd give it a go for a tenner as I'm fed up with mixing two pack epoxy and waiting a day for it to cure properly (the wife moans about the smell too).

All I can say is WOW! I am now looking for broken things to fix round the house........

    I must get out more!....

Nope, no where near. They are great for fixing connecters into vbars, receivers etc because you can simply peal the glue back off. Try doing that with 2 part epoxy. lol

They are really useful and a great tool to have, but they have their limitations.

No, the glue they use is crap (in my experience)... don't use it on anything you want to stay stuck.

I've used it to glue the battery holder onto the aluminium skid part of my Microheli landing gear on my mcpx cause the landing skid screw snapped off on the ones with the screw holes in. It's rock solid, no chance of it coming off and was set in less than 10 minutes.

I don't think it will be great for real heavy duty stuff, but I'm really impressed with the speed of it. It has saved me £20 for a new set of MH landing gear in any case so it's paid for itself already!

Hot glue on foamies ? Hot damn but it's brillo. Smashed my old MX2 foamie ter bits loads of times and an hour or so with the hot stuff, sorted. I have yet to find a material that it won't stick to reasonably well. Except for the greasy plastic, like milk bottle stuff.

Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !

                          Several planks, gathering dust.

Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.

Ahh that's not too bad, soldering irons mind you are pretty lethal!!

I use hot glue for any wire retention and epoxy for structural areas. But yeah, hot glue sure is handy for quick repairs.
