  • Inside a Muscle Pipe

My 30 size MP2 fell apart today. Looks like a fatigue failure caused by high frequency vibrations, probably due to an excessive headspeed for some time (about 2200rpm!).

So here's what they look like inside!

            Hi Manager,
You are obviously getting too much time to go flying if you`ve worn it out
Might know of a place where you can get a new one at a reasonable price, if thats what you want
Be the end of the week before I have one though

                hey,
i hate to encroach onto flatspins joy but if you contact Curtis youngblood enterprises about it i'm sure they'll replace it...
My MPII50 went a while back and its a known fault on the old MPII's splitting on the weld.
All it cost me was one way postage to the US and the lovely people there sent me a brand new MP5

That kind of service you just cant beat

Interesting though, it looks not dis-similar to a 4 stroke end can.

I've been in touch with Brian Butler (Tech Dept Chief) at Curtis' base in the US. He's very helpfull and would happily supply me with a new replacement, but (and there's always a 'but' isn't there?) the 30 size MP2 is now obsolete, and has been out of production for a couple of years, so he can't offer a new one.

He's asked me what I would like him to do in order to keep me happy.

                          Any ideas?

Get an MP5 50 - then do what you like with that...
                            Cheers,

                              Sorted.

Brian is going to send me a new 50 size MP5 free-of-charge as a replacement for the failed 30 size MP2.

Now that is some serious customer care, and I'm seriously impressed.

He's offered this based on the photos that you've seen in this thread, and doesn't require me to send the old pipe back at all.

I work for an American company, and customer care is paramount to everything that we do, but we are still miles behind the Americans in this arena.
