  • Which KDE V2 tail?

    Hi Guys,

    I have a 550e V2 and wondering what KDE V2 tail upgrade I need?

    there are two kits....

KDE Direct Performance Tail Control for Align TREX 550/600 AT550/600-PTC

    and

KDE Direct Performance Tail Control for TREX 550/600 AT550/600-PTC-PTU

Now I THINK I need the first one as ive a V2 but im unsure.

    thanks.

I think you will find that both are the same except one comes with the upgraded links to the tail rotor which replace the align plastic ones.

its purely for bling and to strengthen the tail as I have concerns over the balls used on the tail being to weak, looks a well thought out bit of kit.

              You have a silver tail?

If so, you only need the first one... The bearings etc in the second one aren't required.

However, you do miss out then on the nice tail control links which have bearings built in where they attach to the blade grips, and are quite nice bits of kit. That said, I don't thi k the ones included in the second link will work without adding a small shim tube due to the change of design between v1 and v2.

Get the second one... The difference between the two is the more expensive one replaces the pitch links (the plastic thing with brass insert) to metal ones with bearings at both sides

I found that just upgrading to the KDE V2 tail linkages made a big difference..
