  • Very silly question

Can I power up a PL8 with a 5v psu? It will be enough to charge only a tx lipo?

I'm pretty sure the answer to that is no.

      No.
      Min input voltage is 10V.

If you mean a 12V 5A PSU, then you should be able to, albeit at a restricted output.

As above. If min voltage is 10v then no at 5v.

If you mean at 5 amps, but over 10 volts, then yes it will fire up as you put it and charge a battery so long as you restrict the charge rate to suit .

              Nope. That's only 1/2 amp.

Wire 10 of those together and you'd be ok

You're best bet, for an emergency PSU, would be a 12-18V laptop charger. They generally come in around 5A, so at the bottom end of power delivery, but plenty to get a 2S or 3S charged at a decent rate.
I don't know how "smart" the PL8 is, but you may need to take care you don't try to draw more watts (V * A) than the PSU can deliver or it will either cut out or go pop.

                  A very silly answer:

Is there any part of the instruction manual that you might have read?
