  • Lipo sacks

    Hi,

    I need 6-8 good quality lipo sacks for 6s 4300 - 5000 mAh lipos.

    Which ones would you recommend?

I use the ones from hobbyking and then put them in an ammobox.

I bought ones from my LHS. I opened it up, and all the stitching tore down one side.

        Haven't bothered since.

Are there any tried and tested ones available?

That's what I am trying to find out. Would not buy HK ones, to be honest. I also want to avoid an ammo box solution, too heavy and redundant assuming I have good lipo sacks.

..but how do you know if it actually works.

There was a video knocking about testing these lipo sacks, and one of the, actually caught light and went up in smoke!

Tbh at the end of the day a lipo sack can often supress ONE lipo and hold it back but alot of people store 2 or more lipos in a sack, one going off will cause a chain reaction to the one next to it, lipo sacks will not stop multiple lipos from starting a fire. Ammo boxs are your best bet, lipo sacks are good for charging ass it will give you enough time to launch them out the window but do not rely on them for storing your lipos and stopping your house feom burning down. Lipos are a serious hazzard though they are much safer now still dont become complacent.

I want to store one lipo per quality lipo pack. I am not going to keep a 20 kg ugly ammo box in my house or even garage, because there is no need, just like I do not store my central heating gas boiler in a fireproof container, (there is 3% chance it will blow up). Lipos do not ignite by themselves, let's not be paranoid. They only ignite (and in case of modern lipos just vent out smoke most of the time) when overcharged, shorted or seriously damaged, ie. punctured.

Did anyone try these: Thunder Power LIPO-SAFE Charging & Storage Bag, Large (9x12) THPLSBL ?

                    or this http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/heli...6-p-16039.html

If your concerned about quality , why not buy a fire blanket pretty sure there up to some sort of british standard etc etc.

Open it up cut out what you need and get your missus too stitch you your own bag with fireproof thread, you can get the thread off the net.

That's actually quite good idea. Not sure about my missus stitching it though

Like all these things i like to play safe, i have aet off lipos just to see what happens and its fairly entertaining but i would not like it going off indoors, i agree the chances of them going off in storage is slim its usually during charge or discharge, however i have a few lipo sacks and 4 half dead 6s 3000mah align packs, might test out a few and film it, i very much doubt they will hold back 2 lipos

Just out of curiosity, how much exactly an ammo box which would hold 6x6s 4500 Mah lipos weight? I can always do a custom paint job to remedy the ugliness
I have no doubts one lipo sack won't hold 2 lipos, but would be interesting to see, just be careful please

My ammo box weighs 2.7kg without the batteries. 5kg with 10* 3S2200 and 12*MCPX little 1c things. These are split across 2 large and 2 small lipo bags.
