  • Fed up of align butter bearings

Well in particular on my 500, i do chuck it around alot more than i used to but bearing really dont last me long any more, mainly blade grip bearings and mainshaft bearings, they go all notchy. Its doing my head in changing them all the time. So any of you use a different brand ? I accept in crashes they will get damaged but they should put up with stick bashing. The wheel bearing in my traxxas buggies last longer and they get bashed to death with jumps water mud and much harder smacks. Im sure there made to fail as a money maker.
What are my options peeps ?

Yep, I used to chew them up every few weeks. I replaced them with SKF bearings from http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/

ow there are much cheaper bearings about - but thats what you've got already so don't be tempted by the cheap stuff.

I put stainless SKF bearings in my OS50, still perfect over a year later !

My 600 used to chew up tail & mainshaft bearings within a few flights, swapped all the bearings I could find on the web for rs (rubber seal). Not worn one out since.
Some will say they sup power as the seat contacts both races but if you can tell the difference you're damned good! Oh rs types have a reduced max rev from zz types but still within our range.

I've used SKF bearings in every car and motorbike I ever fitted bearings into, and I'm buying them for the heli now... they're excellent.
