  • More logo 400 questions

Ok so ive finally finished repairing my logo 400, and after a bit more looking online I have a few more questions.

I read on a couple of threads on HF that im not alone with my unexplained tipover, and that it has happened on all sorts of fbl controllers, resulting in a hard right or left aileron. If I remember correctly (on a phone atm), this was due to vibrations. I really do not want to end up having another expensive and pointless crash due to this. I managed to recreate this 'tipping'- sometimes even causing the HC3SX to shut off! Also this tipping was sometimes caused by increasimg the gain.

I managed to temporarily (or hopefully permanantly) fix this by remounting the HC3SX with a new foam pad, and a couple of mm forward. So, my first question - is there any better place to mount it?

I also know that the HC3SX is very good at coping with high vibrations, so for it to give a vibration warning means they must be pretty bad (this warning isnt even shown in the manual its so rare!).

A bit more looking around points towards the vibrations being due to the gear mesh? Firstly, what does this mean exactly? I have tried my best to have the boom at 90 degrees to the main gear, and have used a bit of paper to adjust the backlash of the pinion and motor as suggested in the manual. Is there anything else I should look out for or do?

Finally, a bit of a random question but what is the largest blade size a non-se logo 400 can take?

Thanks and sorry for the messy post

Have you mounted it directly on the plastic of the frames or on a sheet of carbon or similar glued across the frame gap first?

My black mini v was mounted there and vibes were terrible, mikado recommended using a full size v bar instead and put the sensor down the bottom.

The carbon plate across the frames at the top worked better but I always found it to be a vibe troubled airframe.

Have you looked on the v bar mikado forum there used to be loads of info about vibes and the 400 on there but it might be in the v4 section.

      Chris mentions very good points.

As you said the gear mesh can cause problems, I have seen this first hand on a Logo 400, play around with boom position until you have the least vibes, to me it looked a bit like the tail boom was angling upwards when there were the least vibes.

It's a fussy bugger to stop vibrating.

Thanks for the replies. The HC3SX is mounted directly on the plastic frame inc over the gap. I tried re-mounting the FBL controller, and the problem seems to have gone away . Before I try flying it today, does this look about right?

I know the middle pic looks like the gears are barely touching, but I think its just the angle of the shot.

As Laurence says I found mine was best when the boom appeared to have a slight upward incline to look at from the side.

I also I think had a slightly on the loose side mesh on the gears, this was never a problem.

yes I made sure it had a slight upward incline this time. Didn't seem to help very much though - it certainly has an big incline now lol

Just seen your other thread,,,gutted for you

I really enjoyed my Logo 400,it flew pretty good but I did always have a vibe issue there and did find it always worked out quite expensive to fix when I crashed it.

I did try the non hardened main shaft once instead of the harder one but it was nigh on impossible to remove it again from the OWB after the next crash
