  • HK500 GT for Scale ???

Planning on buying a HK500GT TT for Scale flight.

Heard a lot of good things about the HK500GT, but what parts would you recommend changing to original trex 500 parts ??

Also, Torque Tube or Belt driven ??

I'll probably use a Turnigy Motor, and ESC, Align servos, and a decent gyro. Oh and probably some Turnigy Lipos.

    Cheers

hk 500 gt is fine for scale u will need to change a few parts to align parts below

    tail blade grips and hub
    main and autorotation gears

torque tube is best for scale its the easiest to fit and no belt tension to worry about
    Align Trex 500 ESP - DS510's, DS520 and Spartan DS760, 500M and Align 60amp with 14tooth pinion and zippy 2200mah 6S 45c packs

Align Trex 450 Pro - Super combo

If at first you dont succeed, crash and crash again

+1. I had 2 of these and both had rough running tail pitch assemblies. The boom is also slightly different length so with the belt drive it's an issue, perhaps TT gets round that. The 1-piece undercarriage is nasty and the boom supports are very floppy - swap them out ASAP. Check the control rods too - they can be cross threaded and pop off very easily, but generally are okay. I found that the maingear couldn't be extracted without splitting the frames, so I had to dremmel the opening a bit to sort that issue. Overall it's a good flier.
