  • Any bargins left on ebay?

Is it just me or are people paying silly money on ebay recently?

Some of the shops on there have really good prices, but some of the auction items seem pretty steep.

    For example.

V1 MCPX - I was keeping an eye on this for a friend, recently went for £69.50 plus postage total = £74.50

Fair enough, but it had no landing skids, about a fiver, plus postage so total cost for a used v1 say around £81. No transmitter, 2 used stock lipos and stock charger.

Cheapest place I have found a brand new v2, unopened, delivered to your door, with the added bonus of - landing skid , 2 sets of unused blades, stock lipo and charger, and a spare tail rotor included is £106..............

It's so about the timing on Ebay. Not long ago I saw a Futaba GY611 gyro sell for £36.00 ! That's mad. Then the next one that came along went for a lot more. I have also seen crazy cheap deals on motors and other stuff but it's a series of ups and downs and all about the timing of who is bidding at the moment.

Then sometimes people get caught up in the bidding process. I have seen things like exercise bikes sell on Ebay for more than a brand new one at a shop and I'm sure that was just adrenaline taking over or a real lack of research into what was a competitive price.

the way to look at ebay is
know the value of the item new
put your own value on it used including a postage cost
and don't go above that bid

an item that is no longer made only has a value to somebody that needs/wants it
to someone that doesn't need/want it the item has no value

I managed to pick up a motor for my 450 for something like £15 under rrp, and it was brand new, so I guess like others have said, it's all about timing

The general rule of eBay for me seems to be that if it's something I want to buy, some tit bids with 6 days to go and the price ends up well over what the item is worth. If it's something I'm selling, everyone waits til the last minute to snipe bid. *shakefist*

There are very few bargains to be had on ebay now... a lot of people are paying almost new money for old/discontinued/obsolete goods, and I regularly see second hand stuff going for more than new price... Auction fever is a terrible affliction!

Madness. 1 day to go and 22 bids. You'd think people have never used eBay before.

Ha agreed ive been watching that same one very rare to get a good deal on ebay theses days!! Problem is as well what ever the buying price is the seller has to pay 10% in final price fees
