  • Trex 700 dfc head pitch!!

    Hi guys,

Ok went to set my 700e up last night with the dfc head on (using beast bevel box) one. Blade I cn get to read -0.2* best I could get it to 0* pitch but the other blade is either -0.5 ( if i turn the link it goes +0.5) The swash is dead level as I have used the swash leveller!

Not sure if -0.5 is worth worrying about as the other blade reads - 0.2 it's only -0.3 in it! ( bevel box to accurate??)

I would say its just the accuracy of the bevel box as you say you can adjust the uplinks slightly for tracking so I would say its good to go.

I am sure my normal pitch gauge and wonky eyes are less accurate than your bevel box.

I would just get one blade as near to zero as you can mark the blade or grip then hover it and if you see a tracking issue adjust other unmarked blade link.

Had a conversation the other day about digital vs analoge pitch gauges. With digital, they are so accurate that you fight to get rid of the odd .1 or .2 of a degree, put on an analoge and as long as its pretty much on the line you are happy.

If +/- .5 is the best you can get, go out and fly it, if tracking is out, give it a turn and see what happens.

LOL - Just seen that Chris has posted too - It was he who i was having the conversation with!!

I usually go for near as dammit on the build and then fly and tune.
