I fly both disciplines and if there is ever any person,Plank or heli out of order in the club, the members sort it out by disussion along with committee members.
I feel far to many new heli pilots think they are always right,"This we can fly anywhere" is being shown in lots of heli sites and IMHO,we are all in the hobby for enjoyment so lets all try to do just that.
I know lots of you are going to shout me down for this post, but like the rest I am entitled to an opinion and voice such on the site.
There is a saying "IF THE CAP FITS WEAR IT"

Well raptor-flyer this isnt the case here, I've been flying helis for nearly 12 years, what has happened over the last few weeks has been shocking, and is not defensible in any reasonable way.

I'm as annoyed as mike, that guy nearly killed us both, and the other one didn't inspire confidence with his fished out of a bin essentially free flight plane.

BTW it just gets on my nerves when someone says helis are more dangerous than planes when you see the kind of things some people willingly call "aircraft"

Seriously, both mike and I put our helis back in his car incase he ended up flying into them after the no rudder incident.

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Rotorhead, I was not getting at you, further down in the replies there is so much diversion from your concern,[do this to them ,do that to them]. Sometimes we put things in print {tongue in cheek} but as shown in some replies lots of them are quite seriously concerning ,no safety concerns at all.Like you I would land rather than risk my heli or any injury to anyone.
Also I find that lots of replies to "safety concerns" in many RC forums, come from fliers{both disciplines}that are not or cann't be bothered to join a club and as such have no idea about safety rules within a club or even bother with rules when they themselves fly. Most excuses are "to far to nearest club" to join,

This makes no sense ? "Safety concerns come from people not in clubs ???" Errrrr.... wasn't the start of this about someone IN a club nearly hitting others IN a club ???? I'm not IN a club and have no concerns as there's sod all near me when I fly apart from acres and acres of drilled peas, barley etc.

Why do I want to join a club.... ? social side to be honest and yapping to people about heli's...which I do on here....training I've got sorted and am paying for.....but it would be nice to meet for a beer and wibble face to face occassionally

Bubblefish777 As I said "If the cap fits wear it" and looking at your previous input to this thread,it fits.
Yes I do know what the thread started about but then came suggestions of what to do with them, unneccessary and uncalled for reaction. As Ade staed earlier planks and helis get on together its the piolts whose are at fault. All I suggested was aggro is not the way to sort out a breach of safety, putting helis away and appraoching persons concerned is the civilised way to do things

That is a wonderfully civilised way of doing things
However I think if someone had come close to maiming me I'd be inclined to lose my 'civility' and express my feeling in a very physical way. The very least of which would be to take said plank and ensure it wasn't going to be flying again.
I would expect nothing less if I had endangered people with my helicopter. Would You ?
It's funny but a smack in the gob is a great teacher. Ask any squaddie or ex-services person. You'll only make a mistake like that once....and to be honest that's all it should ever be. I appreciate accidents are accidents but this sounded like carelessness at best. I wasn't there...so really I don't know how it felt to be on the receiving end of this.... Think I'll end my contribution to this post here
