...dont bother with the East Ravendale club

A few weeks ago, there was a planker who was ****in about with an engine for about 30 minutes, no one else was flying, so I decided to have a go with my heli for five minutes, and the second he heared my starter motor, he started his plane and took it out, next thing after about five minutes another one took off, and then another, they kept on flying in a relay, landing and refueling and taking off again, always keeping at least one plane up.

It was obvious what they where up to, as they had been commenting on how it was too windy to fly, but the second that a heli is about to go up, they forget the wind.

Then, on top of that the same joker, this weekend goes and takes off straight towards the person I have been teaching to fly, while he was hovering, now he could have taken off any direction, the wind was less than 1 mph, so a downwind take-off is no problem, especially since it was a U-can-do-3D, then later on he was landing towards the pits, me and the person who I was teaching, but everyone else was landing in the opposite direction, he ended up nearly hitting the pair of us, mike would never have seen it, as he was buisy flying his plane at the time, I told him we had a plane heading towards us, it was so close I had to duck, and when he veered away, instead of making a right hand turn, he made a left directly towards the pits.

Another joker also got out a model that looked like it was three crashed models glued together, which hadn't been flown for two years, didn't bother range checking or doing a pre-flight, just took off, and then realised he had no rudder, and since it didn't have ailerons, he had no roll control, so it just circled and circled and eventually crash landed.

Obviously we are making a complaint, and probably moving to another club.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

plankers vs helis.....it's so unnecessary, both can exist quite happily together with little real effort.

Make an official complaint regarding the unsafe flying. Try to Make things as awkward for them as they made it for you..Hell, I would even make up some s**t Oh, and personally I would have ripped the guys head off & crapped down his neck.
            Cheers,

Disagree this is about plankers and Heli's .... this is simply about people being pricks. I'd have flown my Heli without permission and to hell with them. They are being diks and they knew it.

I say this but the way I fly about 30 seconds after take off my heli would have probably buried inself in the ground after wiping out most other people's models and me with it.... there's a lot to be said for flying by yourself in a field.

I think I'd have just 'fallen over' in the pits on a few planes

Yup I was flying my plane and the only reason i even knew anything about it was Rotorhead ducked ..... Now i been flying planes for about 7 months and am one of the safer pilots there .. Granted its not BMFA affiliated but they should know better than what they did ..... Took me alot not to say anything to them as well ...... As for moving clubs , even if I have to pay more for the next club so be it to feel safe when I am flying ....
i always preflight and check my models over before each flight and do a range check before i take anything offa the ground and also do my post check as well ..... Safety is my main concern when flying my models of any kind be its fixed wing or heli ... I would rather dump in the ground that hit someone with it ...... Better a model lost than a life ... Am off to make a complaint this week and see what happens ..... Just lately I have seen some of the worse flying since I started doing this hobby ..... And alot of them fly over the pits and the cars and also towards the village as well ... which is even worse .... our flight line is massive which makes it even worse when we are there ....

In their pea sized brains they are probably just trying to protect their flying site from helis. I would like to think they would should be warned for theri actions.

There's no place (and no need) at our club for dangerous flying and considering what can happen if you are hit by a prop......

I agree totally with Gazza. Make their life difficult and complain.
