GY611 voltage

I'll be getting a 611 soon and just have a quick question.

If I get a 611 with a associated servo and then run the Align reglator do I still need a stepdown for the tail servo or will the GY611's control unit drop the voltage for me?

Might seem a silly question but I don't know how clever the control unit is

You need to step the voltage down to the servo - I run mine inline between the amplifier and the servo.

I'm not sure what the upper voltage limit is on the 9256 servo - I know it can handle 5.1 volts as thats what I'm running on both of my 611 gyros.

Not sure what that CSM step down would bring it to - is it an inline reduction, or does it reduce voltage to a specific level? (I get the impression it will just reduce the total voltage level by 0.6 volts from whatever regulated power you are running?))

The Align inline step down is 5.1 volts - this is what I use on my 600n.
I have the Fromeco Arizona regulator on my Vibe which has dual outputs - 5.1 to the rudder.
