yeah I forgot that bit, weve also got a rule no IC's on your own, we had a very unfortunate incident where a member managed to fly an IC plane into his face. he was lucky to be found as quick as he was, but obviously since then the rule has been introduced.

The rules put me off joining a club, I do want to fly safely but the thought of having to fly circuits only would put me off the hobby. I like the new Spektrum stuff as signing in to a peg board and waiting for hours would bore me to death.
Talk of 5 corpses makes me think of someone taking things a bit far as I dont suppose there have ever been any multiple deaths by a model Heli.
I think that I am going to find a friendly field owner or buy my own if I get that in to it.
The Trex i my garden suddenly feels more appealingThe older I get, the faster I was!
Just Learning!
TREX 450SE
Old Hirobo Shuttle
Twister CP (wont bother with that any longer)
Will be a Blitz Avro when I can fly safely

This debatte sort of reminds me of the one we have as divers. Diving with Buddies and Solo diving. Camera and Video divers have always argued they want to dive solo so they don't feel rushed or bore buddies who are diving. Also there a huge litigation problem around being buddyied up with an idiot if anything happens. I lost a 14 day diving holiday thanks to some silly tart of a doctor who was my buddy and while de-kitting dropped her weight belt on my toe and broke it. Obviously unable to dive for the rest of the Hols. Still I have had my life saved by a buddy of mine. I guess club flying and who you're with should shape your views. However a crap club is like a bad buddy. Ditch them, and although potentially more dangerous, will probably be the better choice in the long run.
hmmm...just had a thought...same as shooting clubs....some are filled to the brim with wannabbe range 'officers' who use their position to give everyone the shits and hide their behaviour under the heading of 'club rules'

Site I go to are not BMFA affiliated so its pretty much lax on safety.... BUT.... some of us can fly to A and B standards with np's at all .... I enjoy the hobby and fly fixed wings alot better than my helis hehe .... I go I fly i have a chat and a good day as long as ya dont get the muppet squad there lol ... One thing I hardly do tho is fly my heli on my own ..... fixed wing I tend to fly on my own there but then i am even more careful when doing it
.... Most of time when i fly helis is on a SAt afternoon and me and rotorhead and another bloke go up there together ..
