Hi all I am still without my Hyperion charger which was returned to Hyperion for checking & warranty repair as a fault had developed on port one the problem seemed quite common looking around the main forums. Well that was almost a month aggo now & I still have absolutely no idea whats going on with it, if it is being repaired, if i will ever get it back again! What I realy want to know is what are my rights. I think I know why it went wrong as when I received it one side of the casing had been badly damaged funiully enought it was the side that port one sits on. I contacted fastlad & advised to send the caseing back & they sent me another one. I now realise shouldnt have accepted that as 11 months down the line its bitten me right in the but. I purchased the charger in January 2011 when fastlad had there discount sale on. The fault developed over the period of a year to the point of after 11 months it was so bad that it had to be returned. I duly did this on the 5/1/12 & it was then sent to hyperion. Since doing this I've ruined a £35 life cell & a 3s lipoly cell trying to charge on my chameleon 630 D I am unable to function now on my own due to not having a charger capable of keeping an all electric flier flying. Luckily I have some very good freinds who lend me the odd charge on there chargers but it's not an ideal situation & I'm stopping them from getting the maximum from their chargers.

I had problem with my Hyperion duo 3 last week 2 weeks after I purchaced from Fast Lads. Got in touch with them, told them about the problem, they asked me to send it back to them ( Fast Lads ) and they send me a brand new one two days later. Thanks fast lads
Your contract in the first year is with the shop you purchace the goods ( I believe ) from and they should short the faulty goods. Call them and explain the problem and see what they say.

This one is not going to be as simple as a very early failure.
Generally speaking, if the fault occurs within the first 6 months the assumption is that the fault was present when purchased and you can expect a prompt replacement/refund or if it is a simple problem to fix, a repair.
After this period the burden of proof switches the other way and it is on you to show that the fault was not caused by misuse etc. so you can expect items to be referred to manufacturers for investigation and repair.
These are not hard time limits and there are exceptions, but approaching 11 months and it is not unreasonable to involve the manufacturer.
Repairs should be conducted in a 'reasonable' amount of time, but there is no definition of what that means. 4-6 weeks would not seem unreasonable to me though including the time it takes to return to the manufacturer and receive the unit back again so while it is not ideal, I don't think you've reached a point where it is manifestly beyond a reasonable period yet.
You know the real answer though I'm sure, if you receive damaged goods when ordering new, return them, do not accept a partial repair as you never know what the full consequences of the damage will be.

This is the problem Mark I didnt think anything about it when I got the item & was quite shocked as the box was totaly undamaged but the charger had been given quite a thump on the side case enough to have broken the feet off of it. The shop were quick to send me another after the proof had been sent to them i.e the broken side casing. Who would have thought tho that 11 months later it would cause me all this hassle.
I honestly think port one was always damaged & charging 3s packs was always impossible on it but being a dual port I always charged on the other side.
It was only when I got into 6s machines where I needed to discharge when my issues finaly came to light.Martin

Personally, i think you are! Considering how much time has elapsed since you purchased the charger, if it was faulty initially and its got worse as you say it has then why not return it earlier?Originally posted by rcslopesurfer View PostWarranty returns am i expecting too much?
I think FL have gone above and beyond the call of duty here to accept the charger back from you after the time that you have had it with this fault and do all the running around and returning the charger to Hyperion for inspection. Don't forget the time it takes to ship the thing to where ever Hyperion is located, so 2-5days to hyperion then inspection time and it may be in a que behind some other peoples items and then 2-5 days back to the UK, all adds up.Happy Flying! Can't agree with that at all, Fast Lad have done the minimum they are required to do as the retailer who sold the product in the first place.Originally posted by SynergyMAN View PostI think FL have gone above and beyond the call of duty here to accept the charger back from you after the time that you have had it with this fault and do all the running around and returning the charger to Hyperion for inspection.
I'm all for being reasonable in setting expectation levels, but let's not try and pretend they are doing anything special or merit worthy in this case.

I wouldn't mind but it's the not knowing. I sent it in in the 5th of January
I got no email saying it had arrived etc I emailed on the 8th asking if it had & got a reply
saying yes they had got it.
Maybe they are fast at certain things but it ain't communication that's for sure.
Ok this thread is closed before I get lynched.
Thanks for all the posts.
