More info needed, has it got shared graphics (not good) or dedicated graphics (good); how much memory 2Gb (not good) 3Gb + (good) Win7 32 bit (good) Win7 64 bit (may be a problem).
Hope that helps but really when you go shopping for that sort of thing questions should be asked first!Gravity is your best and worst friend!

when i bought my acer laptop i had to stop the salesman trying to palm me off with the wrong spec model
my magic letter was g at the end of the model number
and the salesman's jaw dropped when he realised the difference in spec of the two models
the graphics on my laptop are better than my pcHirobo Turbulence D3

Hi
I run Phoenix V3 at max settings on a 2007 (5 year old) Toshiba Satellite Pro A100. Only upgrade is 2GB memory.
Shows the benefits of getting dedicated graphics on a laptop (Radeon X1400)
http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...E-008002EN.pdf
I also have got it running on a 2006 (6 year old) Advent 7000a with integrated graphics
(upgraded with 1.25GB). Ok it runs poor. 20fps on lowest settings on flying field only. But it works.
UKT Support - Advent 7000A Laptop
Basically my 5 year old (mid range) laptop is still better than the current crop of bottom range laptops on sale.
Based on this I find it shocking a new (2011-2012) laptop can not run it.
So no need for me to look into a upgrade at this moment lol.130x

I have been using version 2.5 on my laptop toshiba satellite pro A100 with no problems, however I have uninstalled version 2.5 and loaded version 3 new disk which has loaded successfully ,but I can't open it and when I click on the phoenix icon it is trying to open the 2.5 version which is not there. I now hate this simulator.

No I have not , I thought once it loaded it would just go to my desktop as the 2.5 version did . At the end of loading it suggests going to the phoenix site to check the graphics card for upgrades but I could not find anything, so I gave up late last night.Last edited by gary911; 02-02-2012, 11:46 PM.

Not all of them had dedicated graphics. Mine is the PSAACE-008002EN which did. Maybe why. But if it launches on my Advent 7000A it should work.Originally posted by gary911 View PostI have been using version 2.5 on my laptop toshiba satellite pro A100 with no problems, however I have uninstalled version 2.5 and loaded version 3 new disk which has loaded successfully ,but I can't open it and when I click on the phoenix icon it is trying to open the 2.5 version which is not there. Oh I run it in compatibly mode Windows 2000. Will not launch otherwise.130x

Sounds like your shortcut to the executable is no longer valid - do a search for the Phoenix executable and then create a new shortcut.Originally posted by gary911 View PostNo I have not , I thought once it loaded it would just go to my desktop as the 2.5 version did . Further to my previous advice you may be able to run Phoenix on your Laptop but with reduced quality which still may be ok for you. The machine I'm running it on is a 5 year old HP media centre, Core2 duo, 2Gb ram, ATI 512mb graphics - it's not too bad; your laptop has a much faster processor so it might just run ok.Gravity is your best and worst friend!

Phoenix has very specific DirectX requirements for the older V9 files.
Mine is running on a 4 year old Amilo Pro on Win 7 with DX11, but still had to install some DX9 files.
Glad you got it working....it's a blast :-)E-flite MCX S300
