Phoenix On my Laptop ?

Hi All i was wondering i just ran the demo on my work laptop and watched the heli + wixed wing demo and it ran smooth !!! is this becuase its a video rather than actual game play ??? the spec on the laptop is pretty crappy tbh its a intel pentium M 1.50 GHZ with 1.25GB or ram and the graphics card is a ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 and it say its a 32mb so surely the sim will not run on this spec will it ??? if it does i will order a copy today lol as my pc at home is in need of an upgrade but appart from running a sim i dont need to

You might just have to turn some of the settings down to make it run smooth.

should be okay, you have a fair bit of system ram... so what ever more the video card wants it takes from here - although is slower than zapping ram on the video card.

Keep the screen res low - no more than 1024*768 and you should be fine...

Just a note to speed things up... try not to have too many task bar icons loading up when windows boots, each one loads the system up and slows it down!

Create a new user and use this for a clean windows load - only use this user for your flight sim.

Regular defrags to keep the hard drive in tip top order - not that windows is any good at this!

thanks all i have emailed the Phoenix team just to make sure when i load it that it does not say your video card it not up to scratch etc also where is the best place to buy it ? i want it today lol but i guess can phone up and wait for the royal mail strike to pass

They replied within 15 mins how good is that !!!!!!!!!! looks like it will run after all now trying to find a local stockist near guildford or farnborough

I would think that you GFX card has 32mb on-board ram but it can share some of the system ram of which you have plenty which is probably why it run's ok.

Waiting on a batch to arrive from Climb-out myself, but with the Royal mail thing on the go again its going to be a nightmare. I just sent off a shipment today special delivery but no guarantee it will arrive at the customers tomorrow.

Here were all are on the forum congratulating Stuart from time to time on the way he manages this site, yet most of the time we all ignore the shop. (myself included I am sorry to admit).
Must try to remember to look there more often.

well my parts arrived safe and sound from the shop and the knight is back in action . Had the hiper running to stuartn , started first pop and s**t hot will buy from you again if its in stock ( Need some rappy parts )
