What a beautifull afternoon, sunshine, no wind & just me at the Clutton site. On saturday & Sunday my flying had evolved into proper cranked over figure of eights at full chat.
So I spared no time at all getting back into that frame of mind.
For a change I flew my Raptor 30 V2 first instead of my little rexy 450 se v2. It has an OS 37 in it, Ripmax blades a Revlock 10 Governor & a Curtis MP2 Q it screams it's proverbials off & tuning it is a right royal pain being very touchy on setup.
The servos in it are JR 579's at 9kg a futaba gy502 with 9254 & to top her off she has the smart yellow Carbon Copy Canopy seen in my Avatar.
To say the MP2 is noisey is a little like saying I'm a little over weight
Jeez do those things Bark.
After wanging the 30v2 about I got the Trex 450 out & finaly plucked up courage to do a real circuit with it. Well it was more like a thermal turn with a glider than a square circuit, mainly due to the small size of the back field. I dont know why I did it realy as I was half way through another figure of 8 & at the crossover point I just thought what the hell & held the rudder & aileron in the same place as exiting the upwind turn. To say I'm pleased is an understatement
I did several more then thought nose in!
I didnt hold it for to long about 40 to 50 seconds but wow what a Buzz.
I can't believe how well I'm getting on, I know there will be down times as well as up but heli flying is so rewarding. Every time I go out I come back grinning like a little kid with a new bike.
To think this is my third time of trying to fly helicopters over 5 years.
Twice I sold up after too many crashes.
At last I think I may have cracked it (touch wood)
