Can an instructor link into my box with a lead or how do they link in for training?

The 8FG runs at a lower voltage than most other transmitters so there is a special trainer lead available for it. So yes an instructor can link to your transmitter. The instructor's transmitter will also need to be a Futaba one.

Ok Andy would that be something I would gave to supply? If I join a club? Or wud they have one?

Someone at your club may well already be setup for buddying. If so then you're in else you will need to ensure someone there has a Futaba tx and you will need to purchase the cable.
