my windows vista xp laptop won`t spot the csm usb i`m plugging in

yo dudes , need some help , i have to use a csm usb thingy so i can adjust me 720`s on my tandem , but when i plug it in , the laptop don`t see it . my daughters laptop which is windows 7 , does , is there anyone out there who can point me in the right direction please , as my daughter limits me to one go a year on her new laptop , thanks , ady in need

Go to the device manager, you may need to install the driver.

What USB controls is it 2.0or 3.0 because some vista xp can't run 3.0 as the maker of the computer will need to put the right hardware and firmware, it needs an external reader to (dumb) it down so vista xp can read it, but don't take my word for it

CSM Spares and Accessories

Make sure you have the right ones for your laptop (32bit or 64bit) and follow thw instructions, the dongle took me a while to get working on vista 64 on my macbook but it does work.
You have to install it twice I think as it is actually two drivers

thanks to ya all chaps , my puter is a vista but running xp , sacko lead me to the device bit , i`m not a pc person to be honest , i then found the 64 bit and 32 bit drivers , the 32 bit has now worked , but i don`t now how , one can now fiddle when i need too , ady
